This article was written by two social workers. It argues against the government policy of providing only short term social work jobs to young people. This policy began in 2000 as a response to the economic crisis, when many young graduates found themselves unemployed. The two authors think, based on their own experiences, that young social workers have been making important contributions to social welfare and deserve permanent and secure jobs.
