More than 400 workers in a Japanese Company, the Guangzhou Murata Power Solutions Limited, which located in the Guangzhou Luoguang Industrial Zone, went on strike on June 14 last Friday and last until this morning. According interviews we make with workers, more than 400 workers went on strike because of dissatisfied wages and harsh management. They listed 25 demands to the management which includes raising basic wage to 1800 yuen, firing certain management officers, increase subsidiaries and so on.

Yesterday (18/6), the company announced that workers strike more than 3 days was illegal and forced them to go back to work, otherwise the company would regard those who refuse to do so as resigning on their own accord. Many workers were afraid of this threat and returned to work this morning. The basic wages was agreed by the management to increase to 1500 yuen which is lower than workers’ expectation.
